  Re: Deja Vu 2002

(...) Gimme more trans anything except trans anti freeze, that color is crap :) (25 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Deja Vu 2002

(...) Well, I for one won't have to wait until 2002. I just secured a nearly complete Ice Planet collection from E-Bay ;-) The white and trans-orange (gimme more trans-<any-color> anytime ;-) ) will surely find their places in my Space Shuttle (...)   Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

(...) No engines please! But lots and lots of pneumatics AND pneumatic switches etc. (...) Why do TLG do SOOooooo many vehicles - I got on my soapbox about this once before but here I go again => Lego: please can we have a Technics 'Machines' range. (...)   Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

(...) Same here; some of the older sets really came with tons of beams as compared to today sets...two that comes to mind are 8880 and 8485... (...) Oddly enough, I had the exact same idea. :-) It wold be nice if they designed a monster truck (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2002)

  Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

(...) Something that uses Polarity Switches, Pneumatics and engines. Some electronic pneumatic switches would be fine. Not nescesary a vehicle since they've made pretty much everything that is commonly known. If I *really* can wish... Something (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2002)

  Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

(...) That would be nice models! What do you think from a monstertruck (like #8858) with the big wheels from the Power Puller. Or a large cranetruck (with more than 4 drive-axles) Eelco Kooiker (URL) (25 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2002)

  Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

I don't really mind what the models are, as long as they include lots of "standard" technic pieces. The latest sets seem to be heading away from the good, useful, mechanical stuff, and heading more towards looks - I just want more technic beams! (...)   Re: 25th Birthday for Technic

(...) The only thing that I can think of at the moment is that Legoland Theme Parks will probably hold a special event for it (History of Technic, Meet the Designers, etc). (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2002)

  25th Birthday for Technic

Ok, its not for another year or so. But in 2002 its the 25th Birthday for the Technic Series What do you like to see or any preditions on the sets for its birthday? I love to see a Car Transport lorry for a 8448 or 8458 or A Working Plane - Jet (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2002)

  Custom Models

In the year 2002, Lego will offer custom order sets. In theory, this would allow one to recreate, say, BT1. Or, redo Lego sets that are considered to need work. I, for one look forward to it. (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: This is scaring me...

(...) Indeed. Assuming TLC solves the "license one person's design so others can order it" problem in a way that makes it attractive for designers to contribute, and in a way that makes it easy for consumers to find "the good stuff". Some people (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: This is scaring me...

Yeah, I think you've misunderstood just a bit. I personally think it's a great idea. Why? Well, to be honest I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't think it'll replace the new sets. Lego is looking to expand itself, not radically change suddenly. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: This is scaring me...

One thing to consider is to look what is happening to the 'e-business' companies such as Amazon.com and Etoys.com. They are not making any $$. This Christmas is the 'make or break' for them to actually turn a profit. I don't see e-commerce taking (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: This is scaring me...

(...) But think of this: there are people here who design way better technic models than Lego ever does. You could buy *those* as sets! (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: This is scaring me...

It isn't/won't. TLC will always design sets - heck, the have the SW license through 2007! The new software will be a supplement product, like Mosaic. As to the exact details of what it will contain, none of us know yet. Will it be a wide range of (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  This is scaring me...

Most people love the idea of being able to design sets online and order them. I don't like it. I might try it, but I really hope that TLC continues to design sets to sell in stores. Here's why having all LEGO online would be bad-- - They would (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, that's not really the secret ending. Won't say any more. Finish the books, and you'll see what I mean. (...) Yep, it'll be different. But maybe it won't be juniorized. (nah) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book>4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, (...) Thanks for giving away the secret ending. Here I am in the middle of the third book, looking (...) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, he was 10 (turning 11) in the first book and 14 in the fourth. Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book 4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, at the end. It'll be (...)   Re: There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

(...) No, I really doubt that. The sets for 2001 will be based on the movie, which is purely HP and the Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone. So it doesn't get into the second book, let alone the fourth. And even if Angelina appears in the movie as a very (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)
