  Re: GMLTC

Unfortunately USWest is having some problems with the Frame relay connection to the web server so I have not moved the DNS entry yet. I'm told on Monday they'll correct it. Of course I was told on Tuesday they'd correct it. I was also told they'd (...) (27 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  GMLTC

Is it just me or does www.GMLTC.org send you off to an under constuction page. Is this really the GMLTC's web page with a place holder? SteveB (27 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: A challenge for seasoned Lego Trainers...

Does it stick up between ties then sessior open? Does it need to use the 12v coupler "pins" ? BTW some of us have 3/8 plywood under our tracks ;D Was there a thread on this? SteveB (...) remotely (...) of (...) (27 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build)

Re: A challenge for seasoned Lego Trainers...

(...) Think out of the box. Upward motion is the wrong direction. GMLTC staffer John Gerlach prototyped a working all LEGO device that pushes two cars apart almost 2 months ago. The first working version is about the size of two RCX bricks stacked (...) (27 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build)

Re: GMLTC at the NMRA National Convention

Yes, as J1 said, we awed them. We literally are a crowd stopper. And when I say *we*, I mean it in the larger sense, as in all of us who build cool things out of Lego. What was so impressive was not anything we did specifically, but that we did it (...) (27 years ago, 26-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: GMLTC Modules

Mike- A bit of advice-- if you are planning on running trains inside your layouts, you *will* need to construct a way to remove the "stuff" above where the track joins at the next section, otherwise you will have no way to make the connection. The (...) (27 years ago, 26-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: GMLTC Modules

John, Well, as I *am* running a train inside the module, I have to make it the full 20 bricks high. This thing is taking FOREVER and my mounds of 2x4s are quickly disappearing. I am hoping to (eventually) make 4 modules. I think I will need some (...) (27 years ago, 25-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: GMLTC Modules

Mike- We just finished setting up the GMLTC layout at the NMRA National Convention earlier this evening--boy, is it cool! The new sections are AWESOME! Can't wait until wet post pix, MPEGS, the works to show y'all. (...) The modules stay in a (...) (27 years ago, 23-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Interest in NELTC or other Lego Group.

(...) Plenty of room for that... GMLTC roundhouse uses 3 RCX bricks and gawd knows how many sensors, switches, etc. Assuming John G gets it working right, that is. I added lugnet.trains.org to the groups list so that members of other clubs will see (...)   More GMLTC pics

Nine new pics. I finally had some spare time here with the scanner. With any luck (and provided we finish building in time) we'll have some .avi's of the layout from the train's prospective next month after the show. (URL) (27 years ago, 16-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Known groups

(...) A lot of the Red Line stations are pretty cool, for subway stations. And the underground would be kind of fun to model. (27 years ago, 16-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.loc.us.ma, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

(...) Hmm, maybe Boston is too localized, from what people are saying on other parts of this thread. What about an EMLTC or a NELTC? EMLTC - Eastern Mass.   Re: more known groups

Just thinking here about NOVA LTC... Did you know that Chevy tried to market the Nova in Latin America and it totally flopped. It seems as though nobody in upper management knew that NOVA means "It doesn't go" in Spanish. Being in California, I know (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Known groups

I tried to build a Green Line car, got as far as a frame that properly articulates and the steps, but ran out of time and scrapped it... My sense was that getting the center portion of the body to properly bend will be a challenge. I've subsequently (...)
