Thanks everyone for your patient inquiries...

PNLTC confirms that we will be hosting an Ambassador Train on the L2K1
layout this August 4-5 at LEGOLAND California.  I'll be heading this task
myself.

Are there any pictures of any of the cars? After waiting a month to see the
pics, and then waiting a few days more so I wouldn't have to wait
interminably long for individual pics to load (Brickshelf is way faster,
even when it's just used as a picture host and the pages are organised and
commented elsewhere) in the likely galleries, I did not see our car or
anyone elses either, except PNLTCs(1).

We spent 20+ bucks (11 on our share of fedexing it to WA, and 10 towards
return shipping (less than 6 of that tenner I enclosed was actually used, I
guess the rest was treated as a donation to the club)) to get ours there so
I am thinking it might be nice to see ONE pic of the cars running.

Or maybe not. Maybe the zen of having them there is its own reward.

Of course I may have looked in the wrong galleries. None of them actually
said "This is the gallery with the ambassador cars"... I thought the idea of
holding back a month was to make sure that the presentation would be clearly
organised in a "professional manner".

On the other hand, the pics of the subset of the ambassador cars that made
it to Brickfest were up and visible within a day.

So consider this a larger question then. Is the time and expense of doing an
ambassador car actually worth it? Did any mundane say anything about any of
them? Did anyone care? How much of the time were they run? Should clubs do
this in the future?

1 - , and even then it was hard to tell whether the one pictured was their
official car or what, some silliness along the lines of "is this the
official car or a rip off?" was all I saw for a rollover caption.

How am *I* supposed to know whether it is or not? I wasn't there. Captions
ought to convey information, not just make cute comments. Especially a month
later when just about everyone's just about forgotten that there was even a
show.

2 - Although not very clearly marked as such, you had to actually look at
the folders to figure it out.
