  Re: Pic: New Green Building

John Neal makes this same point in another post as well. The GMLTC layout is different from most others in that Conan has enough bricks to build the whole 16-module section with his own bricks. It's less like other layouts where people each bring (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) Hey Scott- Let me just jump in here and say that the GMLTC is unique in a few ways. First, since we are solid modules of bricks, everything must have an exact place, and usually that will not change for the life of the layout. The GFLTC and (...) Whoa, Gentleman may I make a freindly Observation, - Please, just 'cause I stumbled onto this thread. Well, you Train guys are a tight lot. Meaning, a great deal of thought goes into a given layout as a whole. Now that's not to say that others (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

With all due respect to all parties involved, I don't understand what is going on here. In our club (GFLTC) we have created an environment that is malleable enough to accommodate anyone’s ideas and creations. This is not work, this is play. Play is (...) (...) Too big, schmoo big. Your building is great! Who cares what other people think, as long as you're happy with it, what else matters? If it doesn't fit somebody else's "standards" then its their loss, not yours. Katie (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) Perhaps one could argue that it's all about *LEGO*. When push comes to shove, we at the GMLTC don't push *trains* necessarily, but the concept of *LEGO*-- creativity, etc. Most of us were fans of the brick first. So whether dad is inspired by (...) (...) Ah, excellent, a philosophical argment. Recall, if you will, that I've been getting TRAINS since 1970, and it was only recently that I let my Model Railroader subscription, started in 1969, lapse. So I'll see your "model railroading (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) Well, it is more of a philosophical argument, really. I am coming from more of a model railroading POV, where buildings are merely facades and it's all about *external* appearances. Then there are those in the club who build a building, (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org)
