| | A story, and a new Trains website
| As we near the release of LDD 2.0, I offer the following tale... Two weeks ago, I was visiting the Tyson's Corner LEGO Store. Although the store still sells 9V track and motors, they no longer carry 9V train sets, which number only a few these days (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX) !

| | 10183 Hobby Train Review
| I was one of 6 folks picked to review set 10183 pre-release. We were given permission to start posting our reviews today. Actually Brick Journal got an exclusive for the weekend but the rest of us are posting starting today. My review can be found (...) | | Re: How long will train 9v motors last?
| (...) This is definitely the biggest factor. I've had a motor overheat and cut out after just half a day under a heavy load. Once that happens, it tends to happen again more quickly for the same motor. I've never killed one outright though. I've run (...) (18 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| (...) Ben: Wow. Thanks for the video link! It looks pretty cool running there, and the speed seems to be reasonable. I don't necessarily run my trains very fast, I just usually have 5-7 pieces of rolling stock hooked on back of the freight trains. I (...) (15 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Train Layout Modules - IR Train Wheel Grip?
| (...) For the time being I'll be running 9V trains on the main lines, which will also be OK in the yard road nearest the main lines. That road also functions as an exchange siding, where I'll swap from a main line engine to a shunter. For the time (...) (16 years ago, 1-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Investment for a home layout?

I'm sure someone here knows what the critical number of cars is before the lead coupler can no longer bear the (...) (17 years ago, 23-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
