| | w00t! Fund Drive for LUGNET Servers
| We appreciated your patience during the downtime today Thank you for bearing an unusually long downtime today. We certainly weren't expecting a 9-hour outage simply for the replacement of a disk. You may have noticed on the LUGNET homepage during (...) | | New LUGNET server hardware details
| So, we've purchased our cool new servers, from Cambridge, MA vendor "PCs for Everyone". Todd and I and several other friends have gotten systems from them before, and have been extremely pleased -- they know their stuff, including Linux, which is (...) | | Re: 9V train motor(s????)
| (...) Yes (...) Yes again. 1) A 12v motor (without modification) WILL run on 9v if you put 9V on the center power pickups (this can be done by using the screw on connectors on a 9V power lead that you cut). So the seller is technically correct. (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.theory)

| Just in case no one mentioned it. If you put your 12V train on a 9V track the train is not going to go anywhere; well, not untill it is hit by another train that is! While Ben has posted a way to make 9V motors run on 12V track (URL) my knowledge no (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

| | Ideas+ Dreams about 9v and IR...
| Hello everyone! Just had a few ideas about the IR and 9v train situation: 1) What if we could still use the 9v controllers, motors, and track, but have the 9v motors connected to modified IR recievers (or homebrew IR's), yet have the 9v controllers (...) | | Re: Track to return engine? In English?
| I was thinking of using 12v track for this kind of thing - running both rails as 0v, and both centre lines moving betweeen +9v..-9v. Dunno if it's worth trying to get hold of all that 12v track, though. Wouldn't need RCX control, but you would need (...) (24 years ago, 27-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

| Hi Ben J.! I have opened a 9V motor last year and taken pics of that on my homepage: if interested visit it under the URL: (URL) aim to do so was not the use of an rcx, but to convert the motor for use on 12V track. But I think my pictures may help (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

| I've constructed the 9V point centerline geometry through trial and error. What I came up wasn't very intuitive, so it's probably wrong. | | Re: putting a 9v motor in 7722?
| The 4.5 V motor is taller that the nub on the 9V motor so any train in which the 4.5V motor fits the 9V motor will also fit. Actually, you will need to add bricks to make the 9V motor fit. When adding a 9v motor to set 7720 I added two 4x4 plates to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)
