Man, LEGO trainheads used to live in a thriving community worldwide with
multiple clubs coming together and displaying larger than life train layouts
at least once per year and then LEGO stopped making 9v trains...
What do you miss most about the good old days?
|
I miss absolutely nothing about the 9v days. Since switching over to Power
Functions Ive been having more fun than ever with my train MOCs. They run
better under PF and I have a lot more versatility in what I can do. Sure its
not as easy as just plopping a 9v train motor under your MOC but its that
increased challenge that makes the hobby fun. And you cant do stuff like
this with the old 9v and get the same great running qualities.

Cale,
this engine is stunning and really beautiful with all its details! I agree with
you on the extreme play value of power function. LEGO did well on this system.
By combining 9V + IR-trains + PF-trains the system wins even further
complexicity, what I like a lot.
Leg Godt!
