You are getting a really nice collection of models going here. The Pendolino
is quite smart looking. I really like you solution for the black curved part
beneath the windscreen.

Thanks! The credit for that actually half belongs to my wife who told me that an
original curvier design actually looked less curvy and helped me refine it. The
funny thing about that model is that the brick version looks narrower than the
CAD one, even though I’ve tried it from different angles, camera angles etc.
Some weird optical illusion I think.

This Russion Trans-Siberian set is a good brutish representative of the
original. Nice work.

It sure is a brutish train. I really loved the colours and the design of it too.
Its got real character (albeit somewhat militaristic).

I hope to make some instructions for it sometime and have uploaded the .mpd
for a start. I still need to check that the model is buildable although I
think it is.

I am still caught in this trap so many times! Real brick builds are still my
only way of proofing the construction-- but seldom do I take that time to do
so.

I fixed one mistake in my last look through. The SNOT from the back set of doors
crossed over the rear door. Whoops!

I think one of the things that pleases me most from the Super Chief cars sets
is to see the parts used in original MOCs. Slap-On curved roof bits!

I agree! Was that a cunning ploy on your behalf to get access to more grey curve
bricks? I’d like to get loads in white so if ever Lego ask you do to anything
again...

You’ve merged the retro 60s bricks, macaronis, and slopes for the cab
windscreen nicely on top of a modern-day SNOTwise curved nose. I am reminded
of the elegance of official LEGO set 727 12v
locomotive, but with the modern touch of curved bricks and fresh greens.

I’ve never seen that set before (it was released the year I was born and
probably never made it to Australia anyway). It’s such a great train, better
than most of those from the eighties and nineties and designed with a far
smaller range of pieces available. It actually reminds me of some recent MOC’s
I’ve seen (although I can’t remember whose) which is kind of funny given the
vast range of windscreens and greeblies we have today.

The use of silver daggers on the front badging is clever.
