As Lar said, very cool!

Thank you, John!

Question: Is each light individually controlled, or is each red/green pair controlled together? (I don’t know much about DCC - yet!)

Each of the lights is independently controllable. You can even instruct the DCC controller to blink the lights in various patterns. I’ll be working on software to provide an interlock so that only the red or green can be on at one time, though.

And where is the yellow light? <grin>

Heh, despite having a railroad book with a full chapter on signalling (which I read), I still know next to nothing about how it works in the real world. I did run across this site:

http://interrail.publinet.it/semafori/sem4.html

and went with the red and green signal as being the most practical application for a LEGO train layout. Also, I think I’ve seen some old 12V LEGO train stuff on Brickshelf with just red and green signals.

If anyone knows of any web resources with good signal information, that would be great.

Mark
