You dont need to break your tracks for reversing loop project and this loop
type takes only one of your straight tracks which are often needed elsewhere.

You dont need to cut track to make insulations, btw. Just a tiny slip of paper
between the connectors will keep electricity from flowing. I recommend marking
insulating points with red plate, though, as its easy to forget where you
insulated.
