I was listening to National Public Radio All Things Considered when a segment was aired that had me laughing outloud. Apparently, in Germany they are holding a contest for the German's Language Most Pleasing Word. My favorite German word is "klapperschlange". No, its has nothing to do with an STD. Nice all those German words, although most were quite familiar for a Dutchman. So my question is: What is your favorite (or actually most beautiful) English word? Mine is benevolence. Well, having just returned I'd have to say there are too many to choose from, but I've always had a certain fondness for 'Schmetterling', and 'bleib' just comes to mind for some reason... As for English, I've always liked 'crepuscular' for what it (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
