Nice all those German words, although most were quite familiar for a Dutchman. So my question is: What is your favorite (or actually most beautiful) English word? Mine is benevolence. I heard it first (and actually only) in a song by Nick Cave; "As I sat sadly by her side". Jeroen

(...) Not beautiful by any means, but I like arbitrary and capricious (only when used in tandem). And I've liked runcible spoon since I was a child although to this day I do not know what a runcible spoon actually is. Maggie C. I was listening to National Public Radio All Things Considered when a segment was aired that had me laughing outloud.
