Have you tried not using the power leads at all? I havent tried it, but it
would seem that if you cut a normal 9volt wire, split the end and strip a
short section of wire -- you could pry up the metal part of a rail enough to
slip the wire underneath. If it works, it would certainly be less obtrusive
than the regular power leads.

What about soldering the leads to the rail? That way they wouldnt come off.
The heat would be the only concern, though I dont think it would damage it
alot.
Just an idea.

And a not too bad one, Stefan.....
I have tried that last year on my
renewed turntable (and
yes, there are some further modifications done to the track next to the
turntable - in 12V it worked fine without these, because one could easiely use
6x2-plates as sleepers. But the soldering contact works really fine. The cables
are perfectly hidden when they are put downwards to the base below the track. A
picture has just been taken and is now uploaded here in my
Test-Folder-Gallery:
And kudos to John: your waggons are a masterpiece of finest Lego® art! I love
the x-cross-beams -- brilliant idea! Same with the wheel-sets. Ross has done a
perfect job once again.
And anyway: daylight-pictures are always my favorites ....
