European cars are shorter than 26 meters, they go by the UIC-505 standard,
which sets a maximum lenght of 24 meters (and standard height og platforms
etc...), however only few (passenger) cars are as long as 22 meters (I have
seen such sleepers in Holland). Coaches seem to be 18-22 meters en Europe.
Russian cars are 26,4 meters, but they also have UIC-505 compatible cars
(the red/blue type cars), which are 24,6 meters long and weights app 56
tonnes.
The Berlin-Novosibirsk train had standard Russian cars with special
licenses. Don't whether this train still run.
