I think that the registry was a great idea for the following reasons;
1. See how many are purchased through LUGNET and RTL people.
2.. Track the distribution of numbers. There are obvious regional groupings.
In the future if you buy one used you could pretty much tell where it came
from by the number. i.e. Europe or US.
3. See how many other crazy train people are out there.
