Personally I fail to see the benefit of these 'breakaway' Yahoo discussion
groups. I am perfectly happy talking with US Lugnetter's about all aspects
of LEGO trains, I fail to see what benefit they have over Lugnet, and also
find the Yahoo web/mail interface far inferior to using Lugnet via NNTP.
Why not ask Todd to create a lugnet.org.ukltc (or a lugnet.trains.euro for
that matter, Harvey) rather than trying to create a splinter group which
will never reach anything like the same audience?
(Just to put oil on the flames...) I could also question what 'right' you
have to lay claim to founding a UKLTC given that some here might already
consider ourselves members of such an organisation, even though they have
never got beyond taliking about forming one. OTOH, if you are successful in
actually getting one off the ground formally, then good luck. But please,
host it on Lugnet.

I also was wondering about utilizing such a wide-scoping name-- Sam, have you discussed this with anyone, or is this some sort of unilateral move? Personally, I feel that if (...)
