Hi James,

I am not italian, but also from a country with nice trains running through it.
The ETR500 looks good. The nose might deliver some ideas for my "still-in-mind"
ICE-3 nose!

but it's a shame that you turned to LEGO CAD! I rather prefer "real" trains.
But I understand that getting pieces is a major problem, even at S@H times...

I have been frustrated during building times.  It is a great challenge to
build something special with the limitation or constraint of using only the
parts available in one's own LEGO element collection.  But, I have reached a
point where to realize a potential model, I can do it so much more easily in
CAD.

On the point of building "real" trains, I am trying hard to gather all the
parts necessary to build my British Rail APT set.

Also, I *think* that I can design prototype "thought" models in CAD far
faster than by sitting down in the "LEGO room" surrounded by ABS.  In time,
if I like, I can revisit a CAD model to then try to acquire all the parts
necessary for building it "real".  Pace of design, element availability, and
ease of generation and "thought to image" are some of the parameters that I
am weighing to stay inspired and creative using the LEGO element medium as
an expressive tool.
Wheh!

I am eager should LEGO make a reality the potential of a consumer to send to
LEGO an electronic "LEGO" CAD file and return to the consumer the LEGO
elements necessary to build "real" their own personal design.

BTW, my first electric engine is just to finished. The stickers are missing so
keep your eyes open on brickshelf ;-)

Holger

I await with great interest to see what form this electric engine takes.
