  Electrical Things (was: Railroad Dilemma)

I finally got round to having a play with my controllers and my multimeter. PUTTING TWO CONTROLLERS ON THE SAME TRACK ---...--- Firstly, apologies to Ben, who suggested if you connect two controllers to the same track, then they'd short only if the (...) (26 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) kind that are taken off with a crane. The challenge with these is that the covers get lost or mixed up. The covers usually have the RR company logo on them and tracking numbers as well. Occasionally, I have seen a gon with one cover on it (...) (26 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

(...) Got any good links to pictures of yard goats? I can't seem to find anything. I've been playing with vehicles with swing down rail wheels and it seems to me that some goats have rail wheels also. (26 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

(...) I'm with Ben. I'd argue that the total width (of the major parts of the vehicle) is what matters. Look at this MOC: (URL) my slush list 5 page: (URL) windshield width mattters, this is a 4 wide truck. If every element matters, this is a 10 (...) (26 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

(...) This is a good looking vehicle. And Pause dates it at 1991, so was this the first appearance of the 6 stud wide windshield? Ben (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

(...) Yes, I was referring to the total width of the truck, not just the windshield. If what is to determine if a truck is 6 studs wide is its windshield, then yes those tractor trailer trucks are only four wide. Ben (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

(...) You're right, Larry. Sorry Ben! I was focusing on the windshields but Ben was actually referring to _vehicles_. Kevin (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

You could argue that the yellow and red/black specialty truck sets (same design, just different color schemes) are 6 wide even if their only have 4 wide windshields. They have wider wheels and footboards, etc. Also, their prototype (if it's a KW or (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

the subject line says it...I'm looking for a -used- to -nearly totaled- 4.5 V battery car. It doesn't have to work electrically...I'm intending on re- fiting it with my RC gear for a 4.5v train I don't want a 'new' one...not just to cut up the (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

OOPS! I have that one too! How could I forget?! Ahh, Too late, I have been here at work since 8:00AM, waiting for the final prints to come out for our project! ZZZ..... As for the other sets such as 6329, 6452, 6434, 2148, etc. I think Ben was (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

Going by the pictures on Pause, these sets only have 4-wide windscreens, not six: 6329 Truck Stop Cafe, 6432 Speedway Transport, 6434 Roadside Repair, 6464 Super Resuce Complex, 2148 is hard to tell but looks more like a 4-wide, 3442 is a 4-wide. (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6-wide vehicles

I know that the first generation space shuttle (2nd?) Launch Command, #6336, had the 6 wide vehicle, and I thought it was neat, so I got two. I can't think of any others. I liked the fuel truck as well, I am getting one on my next SAHS order. Scott (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  6-wide vehicles

Since there has been some discussion of 6 stud wide vehciles lately, I though I would take a look through the recent catalogs and see which sets came with wide vehicles. Here is what I found (excluding train sets) #6453 Comlink Cruiser (Space Port) (...) (26 years ago, 7-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)
