I notice that on the 6x28 wagon plates, some have 12 holes and others have 6 holes. I believe the older sets had 12 holes while the newer ones had 6. Is this true? Was there any reason for the change? Thanks (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) My DC class diesel has a 6 by 24 train base made from various plates. Around the edge I have 1 by x plates on the bottom of the 6 by 24 to simulate the normal base. I mount a 2 by 4 technic plate underneath to support the bogie pin. Note that (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

And LEGO never sold all of the train stuff in stores in the U.S. And at the TRU in my area (back in 1992-95) the LEGO Train stuff (...) Dean- Here is how I'd do it: (URL) use the layer on the right for the bottom, and the one on the left on top of it. Since I build 8 wide, I need to make custom wagon plates all the time. I do, however, use 6 wide wagon plates for my box cars, but I (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)
