Re: LMS Shunting Engine with Tender

(...) Jason, Fantastic build! Every bit of thought is well planned and the execution appears superb. Excellent build. I haven't churned through the details, but I am very eager to disect the work. later, James Mathis (17 years ago, 10-Jun-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  LMS Shunting Engine with Tender

I've just seen my latest Factory model added to (URL) Cool Train Creations>, so here it is: (URL) It's based on the 0-4-0 'OF' class (or 'Pug') saddle-tank steam shunting engine, introduced in Britain in 1895.   Re: PennLUG Display at The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania

Hi Cale, thanks for sharing. This is a great train layout. Not to big, not to small and it contains all relevant things you need for such a layout like houses, streets, cars, trucks, people, track, engines, waggons, track side stuff ... And (...)   Re: PennLUG Display at The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania

(...) Howdy - nice layout there! Regarding the second pic from the top, is that the Ghostbusters trying to contain Slimer? I like the Civil War era cannon (mortar?) mounted on the flatcar...does the barrel rotate or is it just on there for (...) (17 years ago, 7-Jun-07, to lugnet.org.us.pennlug, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) This is one reason I like the address labels. Sure, no phone number, but they can at least mail you a letter if they care (and it looks valuable enough), and with a name and address, it's not too hard to get a phone number if they would rather (...)   Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) I frequently borrow my sister's labeler (like (URL) to label anything going to shows. The smallest font can, with some scissor work, make labels that fit inside track. Address labels are a more simple but equally effective solution. Benefits, (...) (17 years ago, 31-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) Every one in WAMALTC marks their track pieces on the bottom with a marker, paint, other permanent means, using a unique pattern of coloring in the circles or outside the circles. Our patterns have become so distinct that other members are able (...) (17 years ago, 31-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) I use a tippex pen and put white dots in the two stud holes at one end of each piece of track. I've also seen people use single coloured round plates on top of the track when its not visible. (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) I constantly get lots of free address labels in the mail. These are great for marking things, especially base plates, but I have used them on track and larger details (vehicles etc.) that might be confused. Frank (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) Hi Patrick! [Track:] Marks on the bottom side of track have one disadvantage: you have to turn _ALL_ track pieces of a layout to find out, if some of the track made it's way into some unexpected part of the layout.... My track pieces are all (...) (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) One way is to use a little dot of paint or nail polish. Everybody use a different color, and it's not a problem. Or two different colors for more people. I have used this for marking climbing gear, and it's quick, easy and durable. Tim (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

(...) Hmmm, I don't remember exactly, but the idea to use that particular element may have been Chris Tracey's, as I credit in (URL) post> using (URL) pic> (from using the Wayback Machine) All of the pics from my post are bad links (unless you (...)   Re: Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

(...) In the front of a display, all of us in GWLTC just build our own scenery on our own bases, and lay our own track up to the edge of the section. Round the back, we each bring some small plates of an individual colour to put either on the track, (...) (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Concertina wagon... and a whole lot of SNOT

Marking tracks and other Lego pieces

What are the best way to mark the various items (baseplate, 9v tracks, etc) when you do a display with many contributors ? I found this post : (URL) you have other ideas ? What are the best pen, stickers or "stuff" we can use to mark ? (17 years ago, 29-May-07, to lugnet.trains)
