Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) Bruce Chamberlain postulated that the problem is due to one of the 3-axle trucks being *pushed* through the curve rather than pulled. I suspect that a rubber band between the two 3-axle trucks would help - I will try that sometime. --Bill. (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

Re: FRED- flashing rear end device

(...) Solution: don't put the light on the end. Put the light interior to the container, and pipe it to the end using a fiber-optic piece. The size of the flasher (about the size of a stud) would then be more correct, and it could be hidden about as (...) (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Thank you. And don't forget that the non-electric version is a lot less obtrusive, (URL) (...) Grin (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Sure, yellow is prototypical... (URL) the yellow and gray are backwards, real life can't get everything right) Now as for doing it in dark gray, if you want to say it hit a few rocks thrown by the children along the line, you could use the top (...) (...) No, it would be too cool for the world to comprehend! Best to keep an eye out for Jesus while we're there;-) (...) Here's hoping so:-) JOHN (17 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) It's also not hinged to another truck; it only has to rotate around its center point. Being attached to the motor truck, the 3-axle trucks in the GG1 are being pulled a little bit off center as the wheels go into the curve, and I think that's (...)   Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Yes, I caught the typo right after I posted... sigh. What I meant to say is that not all the parts came in grey, which is the original color for this locomotive (the original color was actually dark grey, but the 4x4 dome piece doesn't come in (...)   Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks, John! Coming from you I consider that high praise. With any luck you'll be able to see it with stickers at Brickworld*. But could the world survive the bringing together of two Polar Express on the same display table? Thanks for the (...) (17 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

(...) My (URL) breakdown crane> has 3 axle trucks using standard LEGO wheelsets, and traverses points just fine, although it does have 4 weight bricks holding it down. ROSCO (17 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) A brief update ... I got it built a while ago but only today tried putting it on the tracks. Bad news, I'm afraid. To make it work on LEGO curves, you need to remove the 4x6 tile with technic peg from the 3-axle trucks and add some tiles (...) (17 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) It's another Tequila sunrise! No, wait, this is the first one! Wow, that's as impressive a MOC as it is brightly colored, Tony! You've captured the streamlined twenties look very well-- nice and clean, and well-rounded. It looks fast just (...) (17 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Who has made LDD truck/bogie designs?

I know that people have come up with some creative truck/bogie designs for their rolling stock. So maybe we could collect a bunch of them so that builders could choose from a variety of designs. I thought of this because I was considering updating (...) (17 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FRED- flashing rear end device

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks! I love Flickr, it's really helped the building process when it comes to things like these. There aren't too many shopes that carry the 4x4 dome piece I used around, but they are there. (URL) Thanks for the reply! --Tony (17 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

(...) Thanks! The stickers I intend to add won't do much to change the overall look, they'll mainly just be adding text too small to have been created through LEGO means.   Re: The Tequila Sunrise

  Re: The Tequila Sunrise

Nicely done Tony. I snuck in a few peeks on the Flickr page last week, and saw that it was really coming together. Turned out great. The cow-catcher came out very well using that method.
