Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) I guess I must finally accept the truth that it is nothing to do with excrement :( What it looks like to me is a controller for a end-to-end tram line. Or some such. (Do trams have toilets??) ROSCO (18 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) Close, but note there's nothing that could {input} the position of a train to trigger a polarity change at the right moment. It does hook directly up to the controller as Mathew suggested. Jason R (18 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: TexLUG Tanker

Hell yes!!! That's awesome!!! -Stefan--"displaced Texan"-G. (18 years ago, 5-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) How could one *possibly* use a fully functioning sewerage system for *that*??? ROSCO (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

(...) (URL) Oh, it's a polarity switch...>> (...) Reversing loop with automatic polarity system? (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 5]

Final clue then. This pretty much gives it away: (URL) it's a polarity switch...>> So, what track mod do I need to finish this off? Since big hints seem in order, it's an electrical fix... Jason R (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

(...) Ah-hah. You see Crawford, someone's paying attention. I don't suppose Eric's noticed though that if he continued to fiddle with the URL he could always get the next image in the series in miniature. A bit late now... Jason R (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

(...) It appears to attach to a 9v train controler. But I still have no idea what it's for. Mat (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Roaring 20's

(...) Don, When I first came out of my dark ages, I made some attempt at a Gangster sub-theme. They came out ok: (URL) have intended to revisit it, and the advent of the tommygun piece really helps. I still would like to have fedoras though. Good (...) (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Roaring 20's

(...) Not yet, but I've been thinking about it. I was actually thinking more along the lines of a gangster sub-theme of the Adventurer's series. Kind of a Johnny Thunder meets Al Capone sort of thing. The closest thing I've done is probably my (...) (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Quality problem issue

Hi, Today I've received three Santa Fe engines. (URL) of them were filled with some pieces of paperboard and five creator-like bags (standard multicolored bricks).   Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

(...) Now I wonder if someone else would like to pooh-pooh that suggestion with a better one? Jason R (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

(...) Hmmmm. Maybe under the station restroom? ROSCO (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

(...) Hmm. No takers. Well, to be a bit more obvious, what bit of train-related paraphenalia does this attach to? Jason R (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 4]

Well, here's part 4: (URL) cheating>> The next picture will be pretty much it; the final one is just a bit of structural tidying. So, if you can work out where this would fit, and what the missing driven thing is, now's the time to get a guess in... (...) (18 years ago, 2-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 3]

(...) I'm a frayed knot, but it's a good guess. The next picture (#4) will give a bigger clue as to where you might put it. I'll let it be known that the pulley and half-bush on the tan connector peg is a bit of a red herring - they're both just (...) (18 years ago, 2-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 3]

(...) That's what I thought at first. But now I think Rosco is on to something.   Re: Horseshoe Bend Rail Road - Rail Truck

(...) Very cool Matt. I was hoping people would create things like this when I designed the BBB wheels with the cross axle at the center. Now if somebody could just figure out how to make it remote control... Ben Fleskes Big Ben Bricks LLC (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Here's the next bit: (URL) look! Pop-up hint text!>> It's still looking a bit coarse, but this should filter out some of the denser suggestions... Jason R P.S. Posted this last night, but the post didn't appear. Something seems to be a little off. (18 years ago, 30-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Horseshoe Bend Rail Road - Rail Truck

(...) I haven't timed it but it does pretty good. Just about fast enough for something like this, probably equivilant to around a settling of 3 (of 8) on the 9V speed controller. Fast enough to move nicely and not be speeding - I would guess a scale (...) (18 years ago, 30-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: My Train Collection

You have some real nice models there, you have picked the cream of the crop of other peoples designs and matched them with some great ones of your own. The steamer has already been commented on but my eye was also drawn to (URL) and the red version, (...) (18 years ago, 29-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Horseshoe Bend Rail Road - Rail Truck

(...) Thats is really nice, curiously I was reading a magazine review of the Bachmann model a couple of days ago. I love the way you have managed to fit the 'workings' into the load space and keep the diminutive look of the cab and hood. Its one of (...) (18 years ago, 29-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: WW1 War Department 2 foot gauge Baldwin

(...) I've said this to you elsewhere but I'll say it again... Excellent work as usual! You've really taken the narrow gauge idea and pushed it brilliantly. High accuracy on a working train (and a flashing fireplace). Now you just need release more (...) (18 years ago, 29-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  TexLUG Tanker

I must warn you it's nothing exciting. It's just a blatent rip-off of Casey Mungle's corrugated tanker car design, I just gave it a Texas twist. I've been on a 'build for the club' kick, and I thought it'd be sweet to have this riding around our (...) (18 years ago, 29-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug, FTX) !

WW1 War Department 2 foot gauge Baldwin

I have finally finished my latest MOC, a (just larger than) Technic fig scale narrow gauge steam loco. I've written up a (URL) MOCpage> with loads of writing so probably best to go there so I don't have to say it all again. (2 URLs) I have also (...)   Yes, but what IS it????? [Pt. 2]

Here's the next bit then. Maybe this doesn't help much if you were thinking along the right lines already, but hopefully it'll put a stop to the more bizarre conjecture; yes, I'm looking at you, Crawford. (URL) Jason R (18 years ago, 28-Apr-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
