  1920 Electric

(...) Na... Steam is pretty old hat. Clearly what's needed are good electric locos. This *isn't* a good one,the body is (by *far*) not my best work but I wanted to show off a little articulation in the frame. So the NEED for good electric locos is (...)   Interesting question...

Now that we are seing more "custom" parts being made (for example the Starwars weapons, the Castle accessories and the Train wheels), it raises an important question... are these "Lego"? For example, if I use them, am I no-longer a purist? Does (...) (21 years ago, 11-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains, lugnet.castle, lugnet.cad)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) Nod. Good point and thanks for the clarification (...) Nod. IF (and it's a big if) BL will allow them to be sold there. It's currently a big open question in the BL discussion groups, with the usual suspects participating and little or no (...) (21 years ago, 11-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

BBB Inspire Swiss Ae 3/6" Electric Locomotive Model

Ben kindly sent to me 6 of his BBB brand wheels. Thanks, Ben! I've tinkered with them a little. I'm really impressed with them: the ABS material feels quality the molding is excellent the Technic cross-axle hole is nice and tight the Technic pin (...)   Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) From the customer's POV; I said what I would do if I were Ben. In order to get back his monetary investment (nevermind his time investment), he is going to need to sell 1,000s of these. Also, he is planning to manually create the blind (...) (21 years ago, 11-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) Makes sense. Except I think it's better just to sell them in pairs because you never know how many blinds you will need... it depends on what you are building... a 4-12-2 for example needs more blinds than a 4-4-0 does (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: 1830 style loco

(...) Yellow? What prototype used that? (NOT going to say "no prototype exists" because you all know, there's ALWAYS some prototype somewhere) But even with no prototype that might be cool. can you say Fabuland Train? :-) (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) Hi Steve, thanks for posting this cool news! I love these wheels and I am amazed how near the are to my dream design (which of course has been devellopped completely independant from Ben Fleskes design). But in the end they both depend on the (...) (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) I think a "set" would be the minimum amount, say 4. If I were Ben, I'd charge $14 for a set of 4, or $24 for a set of 8. But your points are well taken: true LTDs (LEGO Train Dudes) would purchase multiple sets in various colors:-) JOHN (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Small freight station aka uses for droid fighter wings

Hi all, After seeing a building at BF2002 (yes, 2002) that used droid fighter wings for a roof, I thought that was a neat idea. After over ayear, I finally got around to building something. It's a small freight transfer station, like you might find (...) (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) Ya ya... my only question is what constitutes a "set". I see myself needing of these in black and dark grey and grey... I've had a chance to actually build more with these since I posted my 1830 model and I'm liking them more and more. I hope (...) (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!!

(...) I was lucky enough to see these fantastic drivers in person last week when Ben made a visit to the GMLTC "clubhouse". I don't know how much design work Ben (Beneke) put into his design, but after having talked to Ben Fleskes about all of his (...) (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
