(...) week. (...) Worked on a modification to the roof-line: both above the front control cab and above the upperdeck windows. Pictures at above link. For the area above the front control cab, I wanted to try to get the gray color to "drop" down to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I think I'd use the 2x2 flag attached to one of those 1x2 plates with side rod and just have it sit on top of the sloped roof. Not very precise but conveys the notion. (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Nice box cars, Steve. I like the doors and use of the tiles. It looks like the doors really slide open. Ashley (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New box cars

I still like the door open trick. It makes me beleive that the doors really open and close! Keep using those decals. Compare the State of Maine box car and the Union Refrigerated cars; same design, but the State of Maine box car is a LEGO plain (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New box cars

Nice. Very nice. Except for those pesky decals. :-) one nit... the grab irons (on the right side) are too close together. They should be spaced the spacing of a widely spaced ladder rung. (yes, I know that's the spacing of the minifig ladder, but (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

I dunno, James. That is some funky looking train. I mean the prototype! Your model captures what is a pretty weird train pretty well. Exceedingly well, actually. Why the white tiles on the trucks?? To get the right look when it's not sitting on a (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)
