  Re: Continous operation

(...) SNIP (...) Thanks for the help. I hear you saying that quality is not the same as it used to be, although the parts will still put up with significant use over half a year or so. I may give my operation more rest time between runs, so that it (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 10022 and 10025

(...) I tested it this weekend. With just 1 motor (the one that came with the 10020) it was slow and slipped a lot. When I replaced the dummy/motorless 10020 with the motorized part of the Metroliner (original 9T's one) It ran smooth and fast. A bit (...)   Re: 10022 and 10025

(...) I got my set of 5 waggons on friday (for the 5-waggons-discount-price). I built them over the weekend and I am really happy with design and quality of the bricks. I was amazed about the metallic corrugated bricks: they look quite similar in (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

  shroud for train motor wheels

Hi All, Jeremy Rear, Dave VinZant and I where trying to figure out how to cover up the side of a train motor for our street cars and trollies and I think we got something. There are still a couple issues with interfering with the wheels when the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: restoring, 9v, track

I should have clarified this before writting. I use the below products on the metal rails of the track. Soap and water work on the plastic. (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: restoring, 9v, track

(...) I use two methods to clean track. #1 Aggressive cleaning... use Brasso Silver Polish. this works the best! #2 touchup cleaning.. Rubbing alcohol Wayne (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

  restoring, 9v, track

At the risk of reopenning the track cleaning debate, what's the best way to restore track? I've been given some 9v track that spent some time in a greenhouse, and is a bit "dull". Rgds Mark Palmer (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Tank Cars

I finally finished my first really good (IMO) train car moc's! They're based on 8000 gallon (I think) tank cars. They're a bit on the tall side, but by themselves or with other 8-wides, they look ok. Here's the folder: (URL) some Deep Links: (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc) !!

Today the NGLTC presented a small interactive setup at the Terminus Chapter Train Collectors Assoc. (TCA) meeting.   New Moc: Dark Red Building

I finally acquired enough dark red to put together a little building for the TCLTC layout (another "backdrop" building). I was really anxious to see the dark red in action, so to speak, and I think it was worth the wait! I *really* like this color (...)   Re: Definitions: LUG or LTC

  Re: New Track radius question

(...) I'd like to see them made like HO switches. In these, the switch only has a free-moving bar attached to the points, to which you can attach a motorized switch machine or a manual throw. -Stefan- (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: New Track radius question

(...) I have skirted the issue by using curve-straight-curve...aight-etc. for most of my turns, which comes out to be about a 72 stud radius. One note: I don't use points, except in a train yard (so basically for looks). And when you get right down (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)
