Re: Good news (and l3p feature request)

(...) (URL) figured l3p would substitute smooth cylinders for the 48/1-4cyli.dat primitives to make the tank look much more realistic (like this): (URL) l3p doesn't seem to substitute for the hires primitives so I had to remove the 48/ from all the (...)   Re: GMLTC teaser pics?

(...) What? Don't you think we take our unofficial title of "most disorganized train club" seriously? <grin> Here are a couple pictures of what we've completed so far: (URL) were taken in Minot, North Dakota, a few months ago. Since then, we have (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

Good news (and for some maybe bad)

Hi, The site isn't updated yet, but for those who want, you can now download the new (corrected) Train Poster (just go to the posters section and click the preffered size). The dates are all right now (thanks to Lego Denmark!) and all the trains who (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Help required

(...) Dear Craig, I would be highly interested in your experiences with the bicycle tubes. Please tell me: how exactely have you cut them in 4 mm rings with 90° angle? (Knive or cicle? Is any further assistance needed?) How is the running behaviour? (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: We Did It!

Tim - I built the airport terminal and my dad built the airplanes and jetways. My brother added a motor to the small prop plane to spin the propellers. They are all minifig scale. I decided while building my terminal that the LEGO standard 4-wide (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: 0-6-0 Steam Engine

(...) John, Your son did an amazing job with this engine. I wish I could build this well. Just to clarify, when you say he tried powering the drivers from the train motor this means that he had a 9volt (technic style) motor attached to the accessory (...)   Re: We Did It!

Hello Tim, We will have more pictures and lots of explanation on our web site(www.scltc.org) in a few days, but to answer your question, yes, the airport is in minifig scale and it is incredible. Stay tuned... Robert Powell SCLTC (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: 12 v. "conversion" to 9v. questions

(...) 7740 is definitely an easy set to convert to 9v. I suggest two motors in the engine, and go ahead and replace the trucks on the cars with 9v wheels, they will go with the 9v motors better and definitely roll better. You may find you only need (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: We Did It!

I saw your pics on brickshelf was amazed! Do you have anymore detail pics of the airport? For our last display at a local mall I was responsible for an airport for a static display. Are the planes and terminal minifig scale? While my next one might (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: 0-6-0 Steam Engine

(...) They were quite common, in fact. Without extensive lateral motion devices, they allow for a longer fixed wheelbase (and more wheels, therefore more weight and tractive effort) than all flanged wheels. They were used in some unusual places, (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Help required

To Derek,Ben,Larry, Thanks for all your assistance in my wheel question. I purchased a bicycle tyre as suggested by Ben and it works great, i have no problems and can make about 100 sets for $10.00 so a bargain, thanks again for all your help and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  12 v. "conversion" to 9v. questions

Greetings, I have a question for those far more knowledgeable and experienced in LEGO trains on which I would greatly appreciate feedback. I recently became the happy owner of a 7740 in very good condition but I intend to run it on a 9v system (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
