  new pictures

Hi all, I finally got around to posting the pictures of my last layout. (URL) was having fun trying out the macro mode closeups with my digital: (URL) a look and let me know what you think. Kevin (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

Larry, I did see a picture of you car and a few of the others in this shot: (URL) I don't see the NGLTC one, it must have been before the GFLTC car. jt (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) I don't believe any formal specs have been laid down. Dan did say in the post at the top of this string to stay within certain boundaries and to go for ruggedness rather than fanciness. The MichLTC car uses a drop center wagon plate (no (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: A new GP30

I went with those thin technic wheels, they work fine, & really take no technic construction to build them into it, & the fit into the 3x3 space!. I built the ends of my model with plates to get a more appropirate angle to the hoods (works really (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) Thanks! This is nice work. As others have said, the rounded cab top is so GP30 characteristic... between that and the humped ventilator you've nailed the look of the engine. Very good use of SNOT and halfstud offset techniques in this model. (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) Are there any build specs for the Ambassador cars? 6 wide? 8 wide? How high? etc... This would be both good for groups that want to build cars and who want to ensure there are clearances for the cars on their layouts. Dean (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) Chris, Whoops, part of my reply to you was included in my reply to Josh. The crown gear wheel hub combo is a very attractive prospect, and I continue to wonder about it. The yellow finger hinge arms are from my 4563. I used up my entire (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) Hi Josh, Yeah, the little fan should be bigger, but a 2x2 round plate doesn't really fit because the crown gears stick out past their 3x3 holes. I am thinking about alternatives (The minifig scale X-wing has those 3x3 round engines. To bad (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) One thing I thought of after posting this, now that we have some club or another having a show most every month, maybe we could send ALL the ambassador cars directly from one club to the next instead of each club sending their own in and (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: A new GP30

Chris, Excellent work! Are you sure we don't share part of the same brain ;) I have a mockup of a gp30 cab that is suprising close to yours. Those round top bricks practicaly scream GP30 (at least to me). Secondly, I've been trying to use crown (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A new GP30

First off, the small fan in the back should be a little larger, but... On my GP30 I only used 1 1x2 grill tile. I like the way you have the buldge built, i'll have to do a little modification on mine. I tried to keep the buldge thin, so I went with (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Microfig doesn't mean space does it?

More Train Pics (+Instructions for Sand Red Wagon)

The instructions for my sand-red livestock wagon are now online, if anyone wants to see how it's done. I've also added some pictures of a tan steam engine and a light-blue gas tanker, both of which I'm about to dismantle for parts. Don't miss the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Microfig doesn't mean space does it?

(...) Truth be told, I just finished one of those yesterday, after reading this particular thread over. The castle itself is 28x28, with the surrounding land occupying a 48x64 area. I hope to have pics of it up as soon as I can find a digicam to (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.trains)

  A new GP30

After four sittings I have almost finished my GP30. I am happy with the model; so, I decided to post some pictures before it is completely done. The model is 8 studs wide and 43 studs long. I have switched from using 4 1x2x2 windows across the front (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) Are there any pictures of any of the cars? After waiting a month to see the pics, and then waiting a few days more so I wouldn't have to wait interminably long for individual pics to load (Brickshelf is way faster, even when it's just used as (...)   Next Meeting on September 15th

Hello All, I am proposing we have the next SCLTC meeting in Carlsbad at my office for the following reasons. 1.The Michons (who have joined up!) will be at LL on Saturday and will able to attend easily. 2. It's kind of centrally located to everyone. (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Re: 8 wide and 62 long!

(...) better. And make the bogies longer. This'll allow you to have the pivot point nearer the center, and still have the coupling not too far from the wheels. And the pivot point doesn't have to be in the middle of the bogie, either.... ROSCO (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 8 wide and 62 long!

(...) IDEA!, move the bogie plate to the furthest towards the middle of the car as you can, it'll work better in cornering, it may look funny, but it turns better. Josh (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 8 wide and 62 long!

(...) Are there any curve tracks in your layout? (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)
