  Re: 4564?

(...) Really? What's wrong with it? I like ours very much, but maybe I'm missing something. 4564 was our first train set. We also have: 4525 Road'n'Rail Repair, 2150 Retro Station, 4532 Level Crossing, 4552 Cargo Crane, 4555 Freight Loading Station, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4564?

(...) Missed this the first time. Although I have two 4564's already, I would be interested in acquiring one that was new and still in the box. If someone in Norway knows where they can get one, knows what it would cost in USD including shipping, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: 4564?

Hi Hugo, Unlike Larry, I think it is one of the nicer sets that Lego produced, better than 4563,65,59. I wouldn't mind a second one if at half price but I fear the postage would sour the dream. Any idea how much it would cost to post to Australia? (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4564?

(...) Reasonable price?? Yes, and then some. Probably a steal actually. Here in the US, all discontinued train typically goes for retail or more, sometimes much more. 4564 is probably the least liked of the big discontinued 9V sets, but 4559 is (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  4564?

Hello! Got an offer for a 4564 today. They request half price of new price for it. 4564 is still on the shelfs here in Norway and is very expensive. They request 1.250,- NOK for it. A new 4559 goes for 1.159,-, and a 4565 goes for 1399,-. So when I (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Shop (...) the (...) am (...) use (...) of (...) OK, i think I have got most of the answers I wanted! I already own a 9V set 4559 and some extra tracks. We use 220v in Norway as they do in Denmark. So I can build in the 9V engine in the 12V (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

Wow. Big questions that I feel unequipped to answer. I trust Todd's experience and knowledge about this organization hierarchy stuff-- Greek to me:-p I don't think, however, that having a system like this in place would have aided the formation of (...)   LEGO LOCO: who wants to play?

I have a static IP via a cable modem: 24.95.47.75 I will start a game at 9:00 Eastern Daylight Time on Friday April 16. If no one replies to this message, the game will not start. If there are any suggestions for another time they will be (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

Well Todd, I guess I can't argue with that! :) Carry on with your madcap plans for our crazy little hobby. After all, for the most part, I just read this stuff. It is you who have masterminded a clean and decisive way for a lot of us to live (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

(...) I understand that concern. Here are some things to think about though -- Current traffic levels aren't really very accurate predictors of future traffic levels after a split. You might have 50 posts/day in some group and then after a split it (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: 12V compatible with 9V

Just in case no one mentioned it. If you put your 12V train on a 9V track the train is not going to go anywhere; well, not untill it is hit by another train that is! While Ben has posted a way to make 9V motors run on 12V track (URL) my knowledge no (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

I read lugnet.trains every day. The traffic here is, well not much traffic at all. I would be opposed to splitting off sub topics until the traffic merits it. I would hate to miss any news about trains, even if it is the intimate details of how a (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

Personally, I kind of like the idea. It makes it easier for us to discuss topics that are a little too specific for this group. (Meeting times, project ideas, transport of sections, specifications on sections, etc..) I don't know how much it would (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

(...) You'd have to ask a "member" of GMLTC that question, I suspect. Remember, the PNLTC has a policy that you have to actually live in the PNW to be a member. grumble. Dan lives in the NW and therefore is eligible for PNLTC membership by their (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?

(...) Ok, I'll jump in here now... ;) The GMLTC is the most un-organized dis-organized informal "club" you'll probably ever find. We don't have any 'charter', or membership oath, or secret handshake, or even an official roster. We don't even have (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: lugnet.trains.org newsgroup?
