Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

(...) Thanks, Jason. I am very happy with that aspect as well. I built the cornices for that building as well as the dark orange building well before the buildings themselves. I have actually had the cornice for the dark orange building built for (...) (18 years ago, 25-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  The Old Dutch Windmill

Recently, the Northern Illinois Lego Train Club was given a task. For our first show at the Geneva History Center, each of us created a historic building in the town. For my part, I did a model of the town's old dutch windmill, known as the Fabyan (...) (18 years ago, 25-Apr-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains.org.niltc, lugnet.town, lugnet.build, FTX) !!

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

(...) There are a number of possible solutions that would occur to me were I building it: 1) Don't build it. Look for a stylistically similar prototype easier to render in LEGO. 2) Cheat. No-one (except us) knows the original, so either build it (...) (18 years ago, 24-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

(...) Ondrew, I'd actually suggest using 6106's (2 total), one on each side with a 6x8 plate, hinged like Tim suggested. From looking at the window dimensions that looks like more of a fit. Have Fun! C-Ya! Rich (18 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

(...) yea, i'm kinda disapointed myself as it will be the first parts i've modified other than track for the layout. hopefully someone within The LEGO Group will get the bright idea to put them out in light blay. either way it's a very small (...) (18 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

Hi All, I completed 3 more building facades completed for Detroit. I think I have two more to go and then I am done. A few highlights: Maerske blue (I used quite a few of the 1x6 inverse slopes to get the 1x1 striping effect in the facade), dark (...)   Re: Attempt at corner cafe

(...) That's fantastic...it's part of what Lego is all about. Your result is a great-looking building too. -- Thomas Main thomasmain@charter.net (18 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

(...) Hi Ondrew, Both windows look great. I saw them on brickshelf late last week and was very impressed. I can't wait to see the theater completed. I am sorry to hear you have to paint the arches. I have been looking at the pics of the June 2007 (...) (18 years ago, 23-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Attempt at corner cafe

I purchased the corner cafe directions and tried to build it with parts I had. Aside from colors, the problems that I encountered were mainly with windows. The first floor windows are 6 bricks tall unlike the 5 tall windows I have. Similarly the (...) (18 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.town) !!

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

(...) thanks for the ideas tim. since i'm actuly building the window in white rather than the expencive sand blue, i might try the 1x1 slope route if no one else comes up with a better solution. ondrew (18 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: a couple window ideas/ i need help with a bay window roof

--snip-- (...) Hi Ondrew, Great work on the windows. Both really nice designs (as is the rest of your layout that I've seen). That roof is difficult... my only suggestion would be to use part 2450 or part 3935 double hinged (eg. using a pneumatic-t) (...) (18 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Three little MOCs

  Re: Three little MOCs

Hi all, After LEGO 'published' the Blacksmith set by Dan as the first in their MOC series, none have followed. Do you know why they only published one MOC in their series? Also, was it 2001 when they published this set? And was the price 39,99$? (...) (18 years ago, 18-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, FTX)
