  A window idea

I had an idea that might me useful to those of you who built huge buildings for displays and such. It uses this piece (URL) which can be bought in large quantities through the new NASA sets. Well anyway, here it is. (URL) I envision it being used (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) One word: MAGNIFICANT! Eric, you've done a great job! This model is so accurate, so close to reality I really felt off my chair! The exterior is very detailed. I have to show this to my brother who builds a large Amsterdam scenery with (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

(...) Thanks for the praise. Yes, in the original building the roof structure is supported by iron cast posts and arches. Eric (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) Thanks, Larry. I'm impressed you remember some of those details from when you saw the model in real life a couple of months ago. Eric (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

I just added some more descriptions, pictures and even a few (low-quality) movies about the construction of this model, in particular about the optical trick to combine two interiors and about the mechanism to drive the shopping carts. To see these (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

(...) WOW. I was wondering what the photograph of a building was doing in your posting. My jaw dropped when I realized that it was built out of LEGO! There are too many incredible details for me to list. I can only wish to build with that amount of (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

Hi Eric, This is one of the best moc's that I have seen in a long time. I appreciate the small architectural details of the building. My favorites include the complicated roof forms, flat arches of bricks above the windows, the Corinthian capitals (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

Oh my... At first I thought, nice model but why did someone bother to post a non-lego model? Then I read it was a LEGO model. Then I watched it in detail and saw the small studs here and there, could *that* be made of bricks? I have still to realize (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.town)

New MOC: Market Building 'De Korenbeurs'

At Groningen, The Netherlands, in the 1880's a spacious building was erected to house the local exchange market for grains. The building was soon to be known as 'De Korenbeurs' (The Grain Exchange).   New MOC: 1:18 scale BMW M5 Sedan

Ever since winning a pen at Brickswest two years ago, I've wanted to use the round segments in a MOC. Last semester, I finally got around to Brasso-ing off the letters.   Re: Set Review 7045 dock 13

(...) Jason, The set appears to have "old school" lego colors. The blue looks a touch more"blue" but I didn't have a great brick to compare against as my legos are packed up due to some remodeling. (21 years ago, 14-Jan-04, to lugnet.town)

Re: Set Review 7045 dock 13

(...) Matt - what shade of blue is used in this set? It's hard to tell from the scans I've seen. And, does it contain the new shades of grey? Jason Railton (21 years ago, 12-Jan-04, to lugnet.town)
