I would have prefered designs which focused on one thing, and didn't try to

well.

I have all the Divers sets, too, except the one with metroliner front as a
cabin. I like them much, especially during this sad times of juniorization.
The most irritating thing is that the boats are not much detailed, even they
just look like small fisherman vessels, instead of research vessels.

Submarines included are nice and very realistic looking so no need to be
improved, but a "research boat only"  set using same amount of parts used in
larger sets of the series would be very nice, and another concern maybe the
lack a full featured base set.

Very nice theme anyway

I find the best way to "use" the sets is to combine them with the pirate theme
(whice I don't have much of) in sort of a "sunken ship" diorama.  This
enhances the fun of the set a lot.  I don't actually understand why this
didn't occur more to TLC when creating the sets as they have a treasure chest
stuck in the jaws of the bones of a giant fish, but not from a wrecked ship
(with skeleton!).  This is especially odd since the two themes were close to
each other in dates.  I think they could have sold a lot more divers that way
through sort of a cross-pollination.
