Re: Some new pics of my Town

(...) Thanks Brad! The pictures show about 60% of the town. (...) Thanks for the suggestion. I am currently working on remodelling my old quarter. The new buildings are 4-sided with one removable wall. I am hoping to introduce the same method to the (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: Some new pics of my Town

That looks pretty cool Kevin, The town looks like it goes on forever! The only thing I might suggest is to try to turn the buildings so that the front's go the same way. For instance, if all the building's faced north or west, you could take a (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.town)

Quick pics of my town under construction

Hi All, Just thought that I would let you know that I have some pics of my town up on brickshelf. The pictures are pretty crappy, I'm using a friends camera (mine is having issues) so you'll have to bear with me. There are also some pictures of my (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Town Style

(...) I really never thought of this, but I use a mix of styles, each has its own advantages. The open-backs allow for extensive photo taking of scenes inside the buliding (if you have a small web-cam, that is) while the realistic style is just (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Town Style

I personally find that the "lego style" I chose was based on space and amount of legos. I have few of either, so in many cases throughout my town layout, my buildings looked like TLC style. However, buildings that could be viewed from all sides had (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Town Style

At our recent train show, NCLUG had all styles represented. I had large but open-back buildings, next to Jimmy's closed-back Lego-set sized buildings, next to Frank's Paradisa sets, next to Mike Walsh's closed-back buildings, etc. It worked together (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Town Style

Interesting topic. I previously did "Lego Style", but did not find it as rewarding as I had hoped. I mixed stock Lego creations with some of my own into a town setting, with a simple track loop around it. It was nice, but, as I said, I felt (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Town Style

(...) Good question!! I agree with Kevin, it's what YOU prefer. If you are building for shows, using the facade pattern means that you can get more buildings in (all the buildings at the back are just facades and thus take up less space...) Totally (...)   Town Style

Hi All, I'm working hard getting my town/train setup and after visiting a number of other peoples town sites I got to thinking. There are two different styles at work, one is a realistic style, makeing the buildings, etc.. as realistic as possible, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Office Building

(...) Thanks, Brad. I wanted a lot more greenery behind the diamond window, but didn't have time before the con to place it all.   Re: Office Building

(...) That's my impression, too. For a fraction of a second, as the page first appeared, I thought I was looking at a real building. And in some ways, that could be the biggest compliment I could pay to a Lego structure! (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town)
