  Re: Fond memories of 554

Can't say I have any memories of Exxon tankers. The first time I ever heard about Exxon was the Valdez incident. Instead we had 671. Same model, different colors. And allthough I have to admit I liked it I'm afraid it was never my favorite... In (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

(...) You could easily use BrikWars to mimic Car Wars, if you instituted some house limits on Tech Level, weapon size, etc. www.brikwars.com eric FUT lugnet.fun.gaming (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: Fond memories of 554

(...) I really liked this set too! The slopes used to approximate a round shape and the stickers added a sense of realism to the model that was really refreshing for the time (this was one of the sets that ushered in the minifig era). I remember (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

Re: Childhood memories of making all town cars Road Warriors

(...) It's really pretty much already done-- Car Wars is a very easily adaptable system to larger scales. I'd suggest simply going with a scale of, say, 6 or 8 studs = 1/2 inch in Car Wars terms and then go build the vehicle you designed in the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: Childhood memories of making all town cars Road Warriors

(...) I was plunging into the depths of my dark ages when Mad Max came out. I was very taken with those movies, though, and my high school friends and I spent countless hours mimic'ing them by playing Car Wars. Now, all we have to do is convince (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)

  Fond memories of 554

My first ever LEGO set I got was set 554 (the Exxon fuel tanker) from my mother. In fact, I loved it so much that she bought me another! My warm memories of that are somewhat tainted by the Exxon Valdez incident (just kidding), Anyway, if any AFOL's (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: dacta hospital

We actually sold a sealed one last year on Ebay, but it was no where near $250. The directions are cards and were weren't able to scan the directions. Rose Christopher J. Dean wrote in message ... (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: dacta hospital

(...) Actually it would be even better, if someone posted the directions to Brickshelf, so everyone would have a good shot at making the set. But anyways, I think Kevin Loch is very busy at the moment anyways. (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: dacta hospital

(...) Ben- This set is very hard to get. The last time I saw one available was on Ebay six to twelve months ago. I believe the closing bid was over $250. The chances of getting this set though is very slim. On another note, does anyone have scans of (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

<snipped results> (...) Kevin, Great job!! The contest was amazing with all of the great submissions. I am sure you learned a lot from doing this, I just hope it was not to never do it again ;-). Maybe in the future contests should have a more (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)

Childhood memories of making all town cars Road Warriors

I just pieced together an old set I made in like 1983 and suddenly had a flashback of something I'd forgotten I used to always do (until obsessed with non-town lines. I used to make all the car chasis deals into road warrior cars, all of them. I'd (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: fire stations; continuation of Lego Town

Re: fire stations; continuation of Lego Town

(...) Not I...I've spent the most on Lego the last two years, and find myself lately buying a lot of classic town items on E-bay. I have a lot of the "nicer" designed sets in the last couple years, like the Bank and Cycle Shop, Cargo Center, Coast (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: fire stations; continuation of Lego Town

(...) So would I. I spent less then $200 on LEGO last year, and most of that was for BrickWars items. Since I came out of my Dark Ages 12 years ago, this is an all time low spending record. On the plus side, I've had extra money to spend on other (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.town)
