Re: My Thoughts on the 2000 Line...

(...) There are no droids shown in the catalogue entry, so I'm sure it doesn't contain any droids. That's the usual way of presenting LEGO sets in the catalogue, I think. (...) But the dome elements are decorated! Ack! The MF domes are also (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.town, lugnet.starwars)

My Thoughts on the 2000 Line...

Soccer - although I probobly will end up buying a few of those 'Soccer Bus' sets simply for the number of minifigs contained within, I must say that this is a terrible looking theme. These sets pake in comparison to the promotional Soccer sets (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Tobias: (...) I use 2*n bricks for houses quite often: (5 URLs) can also use plates: (URL) How do you get all the 1-stud wide bricks? Or do you use 2-stud wide bricks (...) I use everything I can get my hands on. I have a "sky-scraper" that uses a (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Ponte Vecchio - Elevated Road Bridge Over Rail

"Ponte Vecchio" The idea of building a model of my home village of Kew Gardens (New York) has been growing on me for quite some time. It is a diverse lot of residential styles including Anglophile medieval half-timbered houses, bits of castles, Jazz (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Artic Windows/Walls

The Artic windows are cool-looking, but they also look like they're 6-wide, 2-deep, and 6-tall. Augh! That's terrible! Did I miss seeing some seams between bricks, or are they really huge wall pieces? Steve (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: Football numbering Re: UK 2000?

I get the feeling that the 1998 soccer sets were a success and that prompted TLG/TLC (or whatever they refer to themselves as now) to introduce Futbol. Last years sets came with instructions for three different soccer games but to be honest they (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.promo, lugnet.town)

  Football numbering Re: UK 2000?

(...) Is it possible they did that to make them contiguous with the existing football promo sets? I don't know the numbers for them offhand. eric (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.promo, lugnet.town)

Re: How do you get the bricks to build a town?

(...) You buy the 1x* bricks in online Auctions. Recently I bought 400 1x1 red bricks for $4 because no one else was bidding on them. Some colors are easier to obtain cheaply. White, for example is usually in greater demand. Also, I avoid the brick (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: Will Town Die in 2000?

(...) Town has been around since 1955, the first of the LEGO Systems. And until 1966 (when Trains came on the scene) it was the only LEGO System. I don't think that there is any worry about Town disappearing. Just some years are leaner than others. (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: How do you get the bricks to build a town?

(...) Ah, I see your problem. You need to stop buying elgo, and pick up some LEGO bricks. Elgo doesn't sell any 1-stud wide bricks. ;) (...) But seriously, the best way to get lots of 1x and 2x bricks in a nice color assortment is to buy the bulk (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: How do you get the bricks to build a town?

How do you get the bricks to build a town?

I have tons of elgo, but when tried to build a house today I quickly realised that I have tons of space windshields, minifigs, plates, 2*n bricks, but no 1*n bricks, which I suppose is those you use to build a house. How do you get all the 1-stud (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.town)
