Thanks! I work mostly in brown/tan because the best bang for the buck (with the right parts for this project anyway) is the Pit Droid. BTW, I found several of them at the local Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago on clearance for $4 ea. I bought them (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

(...) As usual, Paul....I'm in awe! These are both fantastic, though I prefer the brown one. Anyone who can work successfully with Lego's worst color (tan) gets serious points in my book. Kudos! -Dave (25 years ago, 18-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

I remember years ago (Early 80s or late 70s is what I'm thinking of though I'm probably wrong) in the instruction booklets they used to include at the back of the book rudimentary instructions for something combining 2 or more different sets. I was heading off to lunch today, looking for something interesting to read. For me, Bionicle got me looking at Technic as a whole again: not for the sets, but for parts to make better er mechanical men ( I wouldn't call them any form of Bionicle and I might get flamed if I call them Mechs ). (...) Agreed. The lost cost of the Toa and other sets were very appealing... but the bad guys are way up there. Perhaps that's why there are rumors that 2002 Bionicle series will feature simular-to-Toa price point bad guys. You can't accuse LEGO for (...)
