Thoughts on 8448 (compared to 8880) —Dave Baum
I've always considered the Supercar (8880) one of the finest models TLG has ever produced. When I first found out about the latest Technic automobile - #8448 Super Street Sensation, I was a bit disappointed. The 'specs' on it weren't that impressive (...) I am lucky enough to own all of the auto chassis, and can honestly say they have always come up with a worthy successor to the previous one. Great (...)      (...) Yeah, it's about as high off the ground as a real Diablo *without* accounting for scale. However, IIRC, totally compressing the springs brings the tires right up to the edge of the wheel wells... I took pictures of my modified version in grass (...)       (...) Wow. There's no way I could possibly do that -- it'd be so hard to find pieces when I build something of my own! (25 years ago, 5-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Thoughts on 8448 (compared to 8880) —Dave Baum
I do one of two things with my sets: A) If it was an interesting model that I'd like to build again, I put it back in its own box. In this case, I hardly ever go back to it for individual parts - perhaps I pull out a few unique parts (leaving a note (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Thoughts on 8448 (compared to 8880) —Tim Rueger
(...) Ah. My "problem", then, is that I only buy interesting sets. :^) I truly admire Lego's design ingenuity, and I really like building sets like 8880, 8480, 8868, etc., just to admire their techniques. I guess I should start buying up some bulk (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Thoughts on 8448 (compared to 8880) —Dave Baum
(...) I had that same problem too - basically I decided to "sacrifice" my 8480 to make it bulk parts. Plus any small or mid-sized set (8440, etc) winds up as bulk. I can still build it if I want - in fact picking the parts from my sorted bins is a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)
