that both are unused.

I bought an 8444 yesterday (US$17.90 on clearance at Target :) and I
noticed that the various blue elements came in about three different
shades of blue.  Some were normal LEGO blue, but some were darker than
normal and a lot of them were lighter than normal.  I've noticed in
other sets that certain Technic parts vary in color quite a bit, but
this set had the worst color variation.

These pretty sweet US prices..:-) It has a price tag of 16 000 000 TL (30
USD approx.) in the cheapest toy shop that I know..:-(

Actually I don't care about various shades of the same color when it occurs
while using different materials (like normal ABS vs. much more elastic
material of flexible axles, or pneumatic tubing) but it is a real QC leak
when it occurs in the exact same type of piece, or TLC redefined its
tolerances about color variation.
