If anyone remembers the very first universal joints were the same diameter
all the way along, they didn't have the narrower section with the slots that
looks like a bush, I still have two of these but I've never thought to
substitute them into MOCs for greater strength (plus they are red, which
isn't ideal)

I started this partly due to my problems with leaf springs, I was sure I had
some spring steel knocking around somewhere but I can't find it. I'll let
everyone know when I've made them.

Oh fantastic stuff, that would be excellent as it would allow steered driven
axles without using the 8880 system. One and two length stub axles would be
perfect. And with the u/j pivoting an even number of studs from the end
unlike the current u/j where the bend is in the centre of a five wide element.

| (...) I'm not aware of that piece, and I couldn't find it on Technica. It has to be from before 1980 since I have the <set:8860> and it has the regular ujoints. Is there a place with a photo of this piece? In what sets did it appear? Thanks, David (24 years ago, 18-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
