I'm pretty much a functionality nut...some of my favorite sets were 8868,
8460 and 8480 and 8862, which all had many interesting and complex
functions. The intricate gear and pneumatic networks are lots of fun to
build and even more fascinating to watch in action IMHO. My customs models
usually follow the same path...empahsizing functionality over everything else.

I mainly find enjoyment in checking out the inner mechanical workings of
these sets, so that's probably why I don't find throwbots or roboriders very
interesting. The prices are great and they are kinda fun to play with, but
are quite sparse on functionality. On the plus side though, several of them
come with the "worm gear" piece, which can be very useful in making custom
Technic construction machines.
I guess I'm just an unusual guy...
