  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) That figures; I pointed out to Jennifer that her designs were good enough that I would've bought them, and that I had only seen one other person achieved a similar level of design; combining form and function to a level rivalling TLC's best.   Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Damn! that's good (+every other bit of praise said so far) I actually made a very similar model to your crane last year, in yellow it used motors for all funcions except raising the boom, which was pneu. I used the wheels from (forget number) (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

Not sure if you've seen them already but there are the dark grey ones as included in 8480 Space Shuttle and others, although they're 16-tooth gears, and not 8-tooth gears. Cheers ... (...) What is your thesis in ... engineering?!? Jude BTW, I love how complete your designs are. (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) I do indeed have an 8462 stashed away, but that was bought as an incentive to get halfway through writing my thesis. Breaking it open now to create more Lego models would be somewhat counter productive to its purpose of getting me thesis (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks for writing Fredrik - you are correct, the wheel hubs and tyres are from the Millenium Slizer. The first copy was a present, and because of the wheels I bought another two for a great price in a sale. I wish I'd bought more :-) Jennifer (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks :-) I must confess that the loader is also my personal favourite, although I am not really sure why at this moment. The crane also has "remote control" for all its functions except telescoping the boom, which had to be fixed onto the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) I think that is where I get a lot of my inspiration from, mainly the models of around 1980 or so, although I definitely prefer the wider selection of parts available nowadays. A lot of the "if only I had a part which..." wishes I used to think (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Of course printing these out is fine, I'm honoured that you think them worthwhile. Thanks for your comments, Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Yup, that's where I saw the idea being used first. Alas I only saw this on the scanned instructions on Brickshelf, I don't actually have the pleasure of owning an 8868. Fortunately I was able to get two tubes of exactly the right length for (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)
