Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) I must say I feel very tempted by that offer too. I never got an 8462 when they were widely avaliable, so I'm trying to get one now. However, as I live in Berkshire, Glasgow's a little out of the way :-) Mike (25 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) Excellent :-) When I get some spare time I'll get cracking on a design too and see what happens. BTW, for anyone from the UK here, Toy Stack in Glasgow (St Enoch Centre) have a pretty good sale on at the moment, although I have no idea if it (...) (25 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) That would definately be an improvement, that way you could at least keep pressure all the way, and btw, it is quite easy to control the valves with a axlejoine and say a 4L axle, but sometimes it really looks stupid:). The idea about using (...) (25 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8006 "Swamp Craft" has the suspension braces from 8458

(...) No, so far I have seen on the pictures, they are much longer and have not a "cross-axle" between the end and the begin. Greetings, Eelco Kooiker (URL) (25 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: gun1 project

Hmmm. Sounds like a great idea. I've tried making pressurized peashooters (actually, spitwad) with LEGO without much luck. I'll give that some thought. Thanks! Randy -- Randy Anchikoski randy@viclug.tzo.com "David A." (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Silver Champion Sticker Sheets completed...

email me if you need them. I don't know if you guys are familiar with what I have done with the UCS sets. I created a jpg image of the sticker sheets so you may print them out on whatever you have, and don't have to use the originals. They are (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

8006 "Swamp Craft" has the suspension braces from 8458

I just got a box with the 8006 Swamp Craft, and it appears to have two of the large, angled suspension arms which are also used in the 8458 Silver Champion! Well, I don't have the 8458, but I assume they are the same element. They look very similar (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Are technic ideas books still made?

Are technic ideas books still produced? Some of the old ones on brickshelf are quite amazing. Just wish I got some of them while I had the chance! Mike (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.books, lugnet.technic)

Re: 8458 Silver Champion's on the way in the USA

(...) I got the same letter, but keep in mind, LSAH ships from Connecticut, and I live in NJ. So if I order in the morning, I get the package within 2 days, usually the next day! So I was billed on the 11th, received on the 14th. I ordered it as (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8458 Silver Champion is incredible!

  Re: gun1 project

(...) If you like technic sets you probably have by now a big collection of technic engine cylinder heads and round engine pistons. I know I do. I don't like single purpose pieces and I tried to think of an alternate use for them. What I came up (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

The biggest problem I could see, especially while I had my JCB Backhoe set, was that with the handpump, directional motion in one direction was dependent on the load being levered up - the directional motion on the other direction depended on how (...) (25 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
