  Technic set 8064

I have a set 8064 but no instructions, just the box and the inserts plus what I hope are all the right parts. Trouble is I have no instructions so I cannot check. I will be parting with the set but would prefer to check the contents first. does (...) (25 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Your most expensive "MOC"...

(...) My most expensive creation is likely the coal unloader that i have built...or the whole mine/coal loader, 2 trains, coal unloader :). 2 RCX's, 2 extra touch sensors, 2 extra gear motors, 5 3cm pnumatic cylinders, 200 or so chain links, 50 or (...)   Re: How do I...

(...) I have found soaking in warm water and dishwashing liquid overnight has helped me deal with some pieces that just would not come apart. Not recommended for motors obviously, but harmless on axles, gears, etc. Once I have them apart, I rinse (...) (25 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Your most expensive "MOC"...

As I look at part of the pieces I have accumulated for my premiere 'MOC', I think of all the money sitting here waiting for all the rest of the parts needed to be found... What is the most expensive Technic/Mindstorm 'MOC' you've created? I figure (...) (25 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: How do I...

Fredrik says... (...) Have you tried rubber gloves? I discovered a little while ago (trying to disassemble my shuttle, no less) that wearing thick latex dishwashing gloves greatly increases the force you can exert on a stubborn piece.   Re: How do I...

(...) The way I handle stubborn pins of all types is with <part:3959>. Stick the long part of the handle in the pin and *usually* the pin will come out with it. After that you can just use an axle to drive the other pin out of the piston housing. (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: How do I...

(...) I had the same problem with the cabin/front chassis of the 8479 Barcode Truck as well: It was locked by some axles which were hard to take out.   Re: How do I...

(...) If I remember correctly, taking apart the shuttle was a handful. The cage around the battery box was a bit tricky to disassemble; the problem was that #3 axles that were inserted through a beam into the polarity switches could not be taken out (...)   "Sting Rays" or "Stingrays"?

This is confusing: The official U.S. name for Set number 6198 is "Sting Ray Stormer" -- two words "Sting Ray" -- yet the theme's graphic logo shows "STINGRAYS" (one word). But logos don't supposedly hold much weight (I'm told) in terms of official (...) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space, lugnet.technic)
