  Re: three mountainbikes

(...) I really like these, Lars. Perhaps the black bike needs the front forks at a greater angle to increase the wheelbase? Otherwise, it's close, but too square as you mentioned. Still a great model, though. Thanks for sharing, Ed (20 years ago, 4-Nov-04, to lugnet.technic)

Mercedes Benz Actros 1840 Strawtransport, Scale 1:13

Hi Everyone, Here is my latest creation. (URL) You might notice, its not a crane, and therefore my LEGO site is now changed from LEGO Mobile Cranes to LEGO Trucks & Cranes. It is a 1:13 scale model of a Mercedes Benz Actros 1840 Strawtransport. It (...) (20 years ago, 2-Nov-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.modelteam, FTX) !!

  Pneumatic cylinder rust.

Is there a way to preserve lego pneumatic piston rods? I have 30 pistons and many of the rods have gone from silver to dark gray. Is there a special oil or grease that would remedy this? I know it would probably take 15 or 20 years for them to rust, (...) (20 years ago, 1-Nov-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8865 and 8475

(...) I used the bottom 'slower' one for the 8466 (...) I did this mod a long time ago, but from what I remember, I got rid of the dark grey liftarms and pointed the motors towards the front. I can't remember what other modifications I had to do to (...) (20 years ago, 31-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8865 and 8475

(...) So which hole did you use when you RC'd your 8466? I still couldn't totally duplicate your setup with mine built with the main chassis... (URL) because the RC motor won't clear some other parts of the car. (Not that it worked that well either) (...) (20 years ago, 31-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.technic)

Hello y'all- I seem to have a bit of a problem about this on POVRAY. When I'm rendering a design, there is a window that appears where there is a stick figure guy running (for 'run'). So far however, this window has become very convoluted with names (...) (20 years ago, 30-Oct-04, to lugnet.technic)

I' m back from LEGOWORLD 2004, the biggest LEGO event in Europe, about 45000 visitors... one week playing and talking about LEGO bricks....a real pleasure :-) The most beautiful Technic creation I' ve seen was a LEGO clock that (...)   Re: Crab steering idea

Ross- I have designed the gearing mechanism for the crab steering. It is a redesigned version of my original crab steer design. As per your questions about this; 1) I understand the clutch gear has a backlash. I have tried to fix this problem by (...) (20 years ago, 30-Oct-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Nathan- Do you have a website? If so, what's the address? BTW, I'm having a bit of trouble posting my crab steering sketch, so I just went ahead and sent you the pic via email. Tell me what you think. (20 years ago, 29-Oct-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Crab steering idea

(...) Sorry to eavesdrop, but would your revised version of my idea be something I could implement on the telehandler? I thought about moving the mechanism to the cabin. No matter how I do it, the more play in the gears- the less aligned and (...) (20 years ago, 29-Oct-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Crab steering idea

(...) There's a couple of problems with that technique: The clutch gear has a lot of inherent backlash, which will make the steering not very responsive you have to make sure the wheels are centred when you switch the clutch to get back to straight (...)   Re: 8865 and 8475

(...) Once agian I made the mistake of using hte 'higher speed' one, just like the last robot event. IN the 8448 that was just fine, but these are bigger tyres and a heavier chassis, so it takes a little bit to get up to speed. You can barely see' (...)   Part number for old Technic piston?

I'm doing a cross-check on a part number. Can anyone confirm the number of the older, square Technic piston? Peeron shows the number for this part as 3652: (URL) shows the number as 3562: (URL) seems likely that the number on Technica is a typo, but (...)
