This posting got me to thinking about Technic tires, so last night I
reached into the tire drawer and pulled out as many different kinds
as I could find. After puzzling around with them and with a ruler
for a while, I came to the following conclusions.
For the following tires, the 1st number in the tire's side-wall
inscription is the tire's width in mm and the 2nd number is the
tire's INNER diameter in mm (ie the diameter of its hub).

For the following tires, the 1st number in the tire's side-wall
inscription is the tire's OUTER diameter in mm and the 2nd number is the
tire's width in mm.

I haven't included the normal tires you find in LEGO System sets,
although a number of them show up in Technic sets frequently.
Can anyone think of any "Technic" tires I've missed?

| (...) Tyres/hubs from sets 5571 and 5563. Not used yet in any technic set, but it's quite a "technic" style tyre/hub couple I think, at least more than 13x24 model team ones, having pin holes rather than axle holes. (these model team tyres looks (...) (24 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.technic)
