Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

(...) I hope so. In the world of toys, "recalled" has a very particular meaning, one I hate to see connected to LEGO. The bruhaha over the Ogel base last year was just dumb, and I was afraid that Todd may have heard of something similar with the (...) (22 years ago, 7-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 393 pre-technic parts

(...) I'd call them axle holes, as they won't hold a pin, and they are from the pre-technic era. Jürgen (22 years ago, 7-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Sets Pulled (Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid)

(...) I just returned to my local Wal-Mart to find all the new 2002 SW sets missing. They also pulled some of the earlier releases too (like 8009 and 8010). I guess they got excited and took everything back to the store room. TJ Houston, Texas (22 years ago, 7-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

(...) I managed to get 2 of the battle droids and a Slave 1 before they were recalled. BTW, the joint elements in 8012 are compatible with the Alpha Team arm and socket elements. I'm working on a humanoid mecha project with the pieces and so far, it (...) (23 years ago, 6-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

Rahi on parade, well, on webcam

My interactive webcam (it spins!) is back up after a DSL outage, an ISP change and a hard drive failure: (URL) in view are a pair of Nui Jaga, Muaka and Kane Ra, and (big arena announcer voice: Maaaaa-naaaaaaaa Ko-oooo!   Re: 393 pre-technic parts

(...) You should add the humble 1x4 plate. It's my favourite part for different variant's, I'm sure there's at least four, maybe six. You could look at 24t Technic gears as well. They're also a good source. Steve (23 years ago, 6-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 393 pre-technic parts

Mike, The paddle wheel is a european-only pre-technic gear. From the same series are the milky-white axles and red bushings. They are listed on Technica: (URL) tyres look like an early version of the 3634. You could probably make a modern substitute (...) (23 years ago, 6-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Need Instruction Scans - Trike Buggy (set 1257 or 3000)

Looked up a 393 on Bricklink - whoa, my wallet had a heart attack. Thinking about just recreating one from downloaded instructions, but the wheels & tyres are of a type I have not seen before. The wheels look like they could double as paddle wheels (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) No problem! I also should note that since posting, I've put it together. The new "purplish" parts on the 8012 are more blue than purple.   RE: New Parts

(...) Yes, it sure is. Since the 1/16" end mill is so incredibly slow, I had to make some design modifications to the 2x4 brick so that it could be entirely milled using a 1/8" mill. The mods include corner radiuses and partial tubes...but hopefully (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)
