  Re: Worm gear box

(...) for clarification, there are four 'halves' or two 'complete' gearboxes (32167) in Nui-Rama. IIRC, they are black. Ray (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic.slizer)

I've added 5 more weight classes to my Lego Contest.

Lego Maniacs: I've added 5 more weight classes to my Lego Contest. RC is also allowed if you are using parts from John Barnes. (URL) - Lego Links (URL) - Home Page (URL) - Maximum Lift Ratio Sincerely, Todd A. Schroeder (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Well, I like it! 8?) But I thing SSPP is one of those contests that can just keep simmering along - maybe if you have a form email inviting entries, with the current overall leader, and post it here every month or so. I don't think you should (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

Tobbe: I like your challenge since every competitor would have the same bricks to choose from from within each set. I would change only 1 thing...to allow a Technic motor to be added. It would be really interesting to see who could get the most pull (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Todd's competition also incorporates few pieces in the lower classes. My humble first tryout uses less then 50 pieces I think. Honestly, making a vehicle that pulls a weight is not a lot of work. I think I could do a rough MOC in say one to (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Well, like I said, most motorized sets do have enough gears to make the wheels slip so it'll all be a question of getting the parts (max weight) in there and make them press down on the wheels. (...) Hmmmm... (...) I had plans for an (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) I really like the SSPP idea. It allows people who don't have a big collection the ability to compete on a level playing field. I have a couple of ideas on what I want to do, but right now it's a time issue. Between work and kids, I have just (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

Tobbe, I think the SSPP contest is great, but perhaps not attractive to some people. It's a great challenge to make anything capable of pulling weight, but it is very limiting. I think it's more attractive to have a contest that would result in a (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Ow. Got stung by a lazy ebay seller.

(...) Todd, if you are going to start this up here, please try to start fewer threads than you did on BrickLink, thanks, and try to stick to facts (as above). In my view BrickLink is now left with rather a big mess and rather a sour taste. FUT (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.market.brickshops)

  SSPP: To keep or not?

Hi there! Some time ago I launched two challenges, one that I think can survive and lead to something good for the Technic community - MoTeC [1]. But the other one, SSPP - Single Set Power Pulling [2], it's a failure in my eyes. Since it's launch (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Ow. Got stung by a lazy ebay seller.

Let the buyer beware is the saying. I just got stung on Brickbay. Auld Dragon's Lair sold me damaged parts and after returning them I still haven't received replacement parts or a refund. Yes, you got stung but at least you have some parts. I have (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.technic.bionicle)
