  RE: Technica 4

Any chance that the element registry could be made available as a single file? Having to "File -> Save As" around 40 pages takes a long time as I like to be able to refer to the registry off-line (while inventorying sets for Peeron for example). (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

RE: Is "traditional" Technic being killed off?

(...) Only (...) but (...) This may all come true (sadly), but if Lego Direct expect to be able to compete in selling these sets they are going to have to *SERIOUSLY* improve their non-box shipping operation. 20 days to answer a pre-sales question (...)   Drivetrain Problems.

Have you ever noticed that 4 Technic Bush pieces aren't quite 4 studs wide? Have you ever noticed that 8 Technic Bush 1/2 Type 2 pieces aren't quite 4 studs wide? This presents a problem when building a drive train. After awhile these pieces move (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Is "traditional" Technic being killed off?

(...) I'd buy sets contained in a sturdy brown cardboard box made of recycled materials with just a bar code on it if it meant I got the parts. This would be from online sellers of course like TRU's web site, Lego woudn't want these packs on shop (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Is "traditional" Technic being killed off?

(...) this article, I only see that they are moving into other areas in addition to building bricks. On the subject of the traditional technic beams, you can still find them in newish sets like 8458 and 8466. You can hardly construct a large, stable (...)   traditional knowledge in the manufacture of toys

"After deciding to stop using offending words in any further launches of the Bionicle range, Lego now wants to set out a code of conduct for the use of traditional knowledge in the manufacture of toys."   Is "traditional" Technic being killed off?

Given the trend over the past few years and looking at the pictures of upcoming products (spybots - just WHAT are these?????? - et. al.) I have to ask - Is TLC killing off "traditional" Technics? I'm hard pressed to find any traditional Technic (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Technica 4

(...) No, it means no more complete redesigns. small changes should now be much easier since I switched over to php/style sheets for the layout. Still in progress is the element registry, the history and a geometry section. -Jim (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bucket

It's more like that the bucket from 8464 would be perfect in size and shape for a model I am working with. /Pehter (...) -- Pehter "Ibbe" Abrahamsson ICQ: 21014474 (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: BricksWest Technic Report

(...) And what were the answers to why beams are so hard to get? (...) Clearly the beams are still around if they can produce that set. That's a beauty.... strong design and lots of quality bricks. Regards, Allan B. - Expert Builder website - (URL) (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  BricksWest Technic Report

Hey All, Just want to pass along some word about BW and our meet w/ Brad Justus. The Mecha gang brought up some good questions (like how come black Technic beams are so hard to get!?!?) and he did bring up some good answers but some are "wait and (...) (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bucket

The 8464 bucket is different yet again, I'm not sure if that would still be "perfect" if you want it to match a bucket you already have in your collection. Note the top of the bucket as seen in the 8464 pic is flared upwards slightly, as is common (...) (23 years ago, 17-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Technica 4

(...) <snip> One "last" redesign? Does that mean you're not going to put anymore work into your site after this? Your site is excellent.   Technica 4

Hi: With 2002 being the 25th anniversary of Technic I thought this would be a good time for one last major redesign of my Technica site (well we started in 2001).   Re: Good pictures of fortcoming Spybotics

(...) Well, as it is they sell their products mainly to kids and they tend to like video-games more then LEGO so LEGO has to be as much video-game as they can to get to them. It seems. My sisters son for example likes action men and other things (...) (23 years ago, 16-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)
