Re: NEW moc: Black Sports Car

(...) I left you some feedback on MOCpages. This is such a great MOC. The funtionality and sexy shape make this car fantstic! (...) Thank you for building this and sharing. e www.biomechanicalbricks.com (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: SSClagorpion - The Schedule

(...) That may be, but on Maslow's hierarchy of need, food, clothing and shelter come before LEGO. (...) When I started this little project with Eric, we had no schedule. I know it is frustracting, but thatnks for the understanding. First and (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Space Elevevator design studies using Mindstorms

I found this while nosing around (URL) lifters go up and down simulated carbon nanotube ribbons. Hope you find it interesting. (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: SSClagorpion - The Schedule

(...) You know what? I was looking at the numbers, and this is not going to happen before Brickfest DC '04. Maybe if we all lived in the same town, but considering shipping and extra problem solving time in the schedule, it's just not going to (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Compressor

(...) I have another idea for an interesting test using air tanks. Set up a pneumatic engine and add an extra piston to ONE side. (so there are three total pistons, and two move at the same time) See show the speed compairs with vs without airtanks. (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: TJ, start the engines of your R 996...

Re: 8479 Barcode Multi-Set is still available in Russia

(...) Nice to meet you :) Yes, I speak Russian and I will try to e-mail you soon (still busy assembling that truck). As for the other shops, not many of them are shipping farther than Moscow, and I live in Volgograd. I tried to contact logoclub (the (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  New MOC - 3wheel 9v full control

Hay!!! My new modell is "3wheel". It's full control. Brickshelf gallery: (URL) web site: www.legott.republika.pl TT (I.m with Poland and I don't write in English language ;) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Compressor

(...) Yes, the 100x length difference will give a significant balloon effect. I suppose realistically 40cm to 5cm would be a fairer comparison. Set 8868 came with a 5m bundle of pneumatic tube. The use of flex tubing in sets began with sets 8837 (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Are grey axles meant to have less friction?

(...) Black Lego pieces have carbon in them, which is why they don't bleach (see colour debate elsewhere). I wonder if this makes any difference to friction? I don't think there's any difference when I cut up grey or black parts - they all make a (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8479 Barcode Multi-Set is still available in Russia

(...) Alexander, Do you speak Russian? :) If so, please reply me (in Russian :) ), would be nice to find AFOLs in Russia. Do not purchased by myself, by this (Russian) shop has 8479 on sale for this month for about 30% cheaper (~$120). Know nothing (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

8479 Barcode Multi-Set is still available in Russia

I just had my 8479 delivered :) Strange for a 1997 set but one of our biggest online shops started to sell them (new!) about a month ago so I took my chance: (URL) sells for about $155 - $160 USD + delivery which I guess is a good price here for (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Are grey axles meant to have less friction?

(...) Duq- I've not noticed any less friction with the new grey axles. In fact, I've performed a few quick, crude tests and not been able to tell any difference (i.e. I pushed on and pulled off the same bushing on both black and grey axles). Of (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: TJ, start the engines of your R 996...

(...) Great pictures too! My R996 will need some dusting first :-) And new batteries! (...) <snip> I was very fortunate to see this model (slightly unfinished) in person some weeks ago. It was great meeting Beat and discussing his MOCs, building (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.modelteam)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Compressor

(...) This type of valve will be used to turn the power on/off (via polarity switch) for the compressor. Instead of needing an overpressure valve, the compressor will be turned off, saving batteries. I think we all agree, sometimes you really need (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Are grey axles meant to have less friction?

(...) I haven't noticed that. However, I noticed that the new tan axle pins have a significantly weaker pin than the old gray ones. See how easily the wheels come off on the 4404, 8451, 8453... (20 years ago, 23-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Compressor

(...) Lessee, 5m tube vs. 5cm (or .05m) tube...I'd guess something approaching 100x as long? :) I'm guessing you meant to type something a little different there... Anyways, by my eye, the flex-system tube OD is roughly the same as the OD of the (...) (20 years ago, 22-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

Are grey axles meant to have less friction?

I couldn't find an earlier post about this (though it might well be there) so I'm starting a new thread. I recently noticed that the grey axles (the odd-length ones in some recent sets like 8451 and 8453) have less friction than the black ones. It (...) (20 years ago, 22-May-04, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: SSClagorpion - Compressor

(...) The limiting factor with the speed of the model is composed of two things: 1. The total volume of air between the valve that is switched and the cylinders that were previously supplied before the valve was switched. 2. The rate of supply of (...) (20 years ago, 22-May-04, to lugnet.technic)
