Re: Drill and Hooklift Truck Renders

(...) I saw a copy of the book at a local bookstore the other day, and I had to comment to my friends about it. "Hey, I know the girl who did this!" Geesh, I'm a goober. I did get the book, BTW. -TJ p.s. Nice domain name- I hadn't realized you'd (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Moc: Digger

(...) The two top ropes work very similar to the ropes on Pehter's digger. The cut is away from the machine instead of towards, so the rope is on the top of the crowd "linkage" instead of the bottom. It's interesting how the bucket tilt mechanism (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.loc.se)

Re: Drill and Hooklift Truck Renders

Those renders are awesome - at first I thought they were photos! It took me a while to examine the pictures before I could convince my eyes that they were renders. It took sometimes also before I realized the drill was made out of Lego bricks! The (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Drill and Hooklift Truck Renders

I've added a couple of new renders to my website, with much of the inspiration coming from fairly recent developments with radiosity mentioned in the lugnet.cad newsgroups. One is a render of the power drill featured on the cover of the "Lego (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce.moc) !!

  Re: how many creators

Thanks God someone started this thread (I was maybe shy...) but I've got some things to say... The only good (and relatively cheap) Technic sets that were available here in Colombia were the 8437 and 8459.... and that was in 1997-1998.... after (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Dead

I wonder how many times the Technic line has been announced dead on this newsgroup. It must have been done fairly many times over the years. Fredrik (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: how many creators

(...) I have been disappointed in LEGO lately. It seems they are giving in to low mentality, cut to the chase, parts and sets. I remember when there was a lot of technic on the store shelves. Now it is Bionicle and Mega blocks. :-( I wonder why they (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Quick, informal poll

(...) As an old news reader I prefer to read the lugnet.technic in a news reader :) *looking* Hey, that one is mine, cool. *reading on* There some useful links there, I'm gonna look a little bit more frequent on the page than I have been doing. But (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: what else could be done

(...) I hope not. Lift arms are great. They will never replace the technic beam in many applications. For one you could not used a technic beam with 2 plates and another technic beam on top and so forth to hold things together verticaly. Regards, (...)   Re: how many creators

(...) Plastic jars hardly require the same high quality as the bricks do, it's a snug fit between studs that would be impossible if the quality were lower. Just try to stack any clone brand 2 x 4's like this: (URL) Bionicle sells, that's the harsh (...) (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: what else could be done

(...) Well, I was originally thinking holes b/w the studs (for a total of 2 holes), but I suppose a 3-hole (holes right below studs) would be cool too :-) TJ (22 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)
