Re: Best all time Technic sets poll

<<snip>> Since my Lugnet membership is in limbo awaiting fee I'll answer this way. The only two sets I can have an honest opinion about are these: 1 <set:8480 8480 Space Shuttle> 2 <set:8460 8460 Mobile Crane> Regards, /Tobbe (URL) (22 years ago, 18-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

Best all time Technic sets poll

I've taken the clear 9 leaders from the nominees poll and set them in a rank poll: (URL) the best ever Technic sets from the most favorite (1) to the least favorite (9). The sets that made it to the final are: <set:8480 8480 Space Shuttle> <set:8880 (...) (22 years ago, 18-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Making 7u axles

For some reasons, I never have enough 5u axles, so maybe a 12u axle are best, the newer type, and a sharp scalpell, cut the axle all the way round, and just snap it off. The ends will be flatt, so the axles are perfect. No sanding reqiured since (...) (22 years ago, 18-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Gali Nuva props really work

I was playing with Gali Nuva in the bathtub this weekend and was delighted to see that when she is moved through the water her small hand props spin like mad.   Re: 8461 F1 Racer is identical to Silver Champion

I think that you should go take a look at www.peeron.com, and do searches for "8458" and "8461", and compare. I own neither of these models, but I still think the similarity is about 95%... (...) And this is a very good thing. the silver champion (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8461 F1 Racer is identical to Silver Champion

The panels are actually different parts, not just different colors. And the rear spoiler is different (uses tiles rather than panels). And for those who didn't buy the silver champion because we're poor (such as myself), the price is different. :-) (...) (22 years ago, 15-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

8461 F1 Racer is identical to Silver Champion

Compare the instruction manuals. Identical except for the different colored panels. Anyone having the 8458 Silver Champion already will be disappointed. Why doesn't Lego come out with some new Technic models. (22 years ago, 15-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8461 arrives

Try www.crash.net for any motor racing news. You don't miss much in the races. Find out the qualifying positions, that's usually pretty close to the 60-odd full speed parade laps that pass for a F1 race these days. Next round should be okay for you (...)   Re: Making 7u axles

It seems they are molded: if you look closely, there is a very thin line along the axle where halves of the mold join. The injection point is at one end. I suspect (but I'm not sure) that actually the mold has 4 parts, two for the axle itself, two (...) (22 years ago, 14-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Making 7u axles

Speaking of the axles does anyone have any idea if LEGO make them with an extrusion mold or if they actually injection-mold each axle out of individual injection molds?
